Lorraine Brown and Narelle Thomas
Aunty Lorraine Brown and Aunty Narelle Thomas are proud Yuin/Gunai Kurnai women, respected Elders, and senior artists at Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation. For over 30 years, they have painted side by side, creating bold, flowing works that reflect the stories, memory and deep cultural knowledge of the East Coast Saltwater Peoples. Their partnership is built on trust, balance and shared vision — Aunty Lorraine brings fine detail and linework, while Aunty Narelle brings the colour, energy and movement. Together, their work speaks of Country, family, and lived experience. Their unique rhythm is evident in every piece they create. Beyond the canvas, both Elders play a vital role in passing on knowledge and guiding the next generation of artists. Their leadership and creativity continue to shape Coomaditchie’s cultural identity and inspire all those who encounter their work.
