Aunty Lorraine Brown is a proud Yuin/Gunai Kurnai woman, respected Elder, and senior artist at Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation. Her vibrant, flowing designs reflect her deep connection to the stories and knowledge of East Coast Saltwater Peoples, grounding her work in culture, place, and memory. Her art shares stories passed down through generations, carrying the spirit of Country and community. For over 30 years, she has painted alongside her sister, Aunty Narelle Thomas. Their creative partnership is built on trust and shared vision — Aunty Lorraine known for her detailed work, and Aunty Narelle bringing that detail to life with colour and form. Together, their process is seamless, moving in rhythm as equals. As an Elder, Aunty Lorraine is a guide and mentor. Her leadership and cultural knowledge shape not only her art but also the next generation of artists at Coomaditchie.
