Four More Aboriginal Artists supported by ACHAA’s ICIP Greeting Card Project’s Second Iteration
02-10-2026

ACHAA is building on its commitment to Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) rights as fundamental to First Nations peoples with the second iteration of our ICIP Greeting Cards project.

Expanding on the pilot of this project, we have developed a new collection of greeting cards, this time in collaboration with Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre. This collection is similarly centred on respect for Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) practice through supporting a selection of Aboriginal artists connected to one of our member centres to build awareness of ICIP principles and protocols across the wider community.

We are very excited to have four incredible artists selected in conjunction with Yarrawarra, with artwork contributions from Ngambaa and Gumbaynggirr artist Laurel Swan (Foley), Bundjalung and Gumbaynggirr artist Tori Ann Donnelly , Gumbaynggirr/Bagawa and Yaegl Jingalu and Kullali and Wakka Wakka artist Lindsay Anderson.

With strategic funding from the Federal Government’s Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS) ICIP program, each iteration of this project seeks to reach new audiences through engaging with a different Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO) and their artist community. The project was a request from IVAIS ICIP unit to develop an artists and arts worker ICIP training program to create practical interactions between member centres and artists around ICIP protocols. ACHAA developed this concept into a greater awareness-building project, that also supports the work of NSW Aboriginal artists and the ACHAA member centre that supports them.

For more information regarding the strategic goals of this project, see our previous article.

The greeting card project continues the work ACHAA has done prior through our 2024 conference and cultural gathering with a distinct focus on ICIP at the Art Gallery of NSW. By demonstrating practical applications of ICIP principles, this project is the natural next step. As ACHAA is committed to supporting its members to implement respectful ICIP practices that benefit organisations and their artists, this new collection represents that continuing work.
